What you get on the night
Formal committees, parents and venue coordinators all get the same thing: one supplier who turns up early and leaves the room as they found it.
Current music, read live
The playlist that works for a Year 12 formal is not the one that works for a 21st. Both get read on the night rather than run from a fixed list.
Wireless mics for speeches
For the principal, the captains, the birthday speech or the toast. Tested before guests arrive, not during.
Dance-floor lighting
Enough to make the room feel like an event. Scaled to the venue rather than maxed out.
A clean set where it is required
Schools and venues often ask for radio edits and no explicit lyrics. Say so when you book and that is what plays.
Set-up and pack-down included
In and set before doors, out after the last song, inside the venue's bump-in and curfew times.
Booths that suit the age group
The 360 booth and the GIF booth get the most use at formals and 21sts because guests can post what they make that night. Prints from a classic booth work better as a keepsake.
4.9 from 50 Google reviews
Plus 4.8 from 8 on Easy Weddings. Both cover the whole business: the DJ, the booths and the bar.

Same age group, two very different nights
A school formal DJ works to the venue's clock and the school's rules, with staff watching the floor. A 21st DJ works to what the family wants, usually with a bar and a much wider age range. Both need the music read as the night moves, which a phone playlist cannot do.

Read the room, dress for it, keep it moving
Great service! Our year group hired the photo booth service for our graduation formal, and the pics were great! Printed straight away, and were in great quality! They provided us with props, and we could take as many photos as we wanted! Not to mention that afterwards, we could download the digital versions straight from the website :)) Great customer service from the owner, all in all, highly recommend !
Thank you for making my daughters 16th a night to remember. Professional and friendly staff made it easy for us. My daughter was thrilled!!!!
The booth queue is the part they actually post
A formal has two jobs: a floor that fills and photos worth keeping. The booth handles the second one, and it runs itself all night, with no coordinator standing over it and no queue that stalls dinner service.

How booking a formal or 21st DJ works
Check the date
Formal season and 21st season both cluster. Send the date, venue and guest numbers and we come back with availability and a price.
Lock it in
A deposit holds the date. If a school or committee is paying, we invoice the school.
Agree the rules
Clean edits or not, a do-not-play list, who is allowed to make requests, and what time the music has to stop.
On the night
Set up before doors, mics tested with whoever is speaking, and the room read as it fills. Pack-down after the last song.
School formal and 21st DJ: common questions
Can you keep the set clean for a school event?
Yes. Radio edits only and no explicit lyrics if that is what the school or venue requires. Tell us when you book so it is set up that way from the start.
Do you take requests from guests on the night?
That is your call. Some committees want requests open, others want them to come through one person. Either works, we just need to know beforehand.
How long do you play for at a formal?
Most formals run three to four hours from the sit-down meal through to the venue's cut-off, and the DJ covers the whole night rather than only the dancing. Send the venue's start and finish times and the quote is built around them.
Can the school or the venue be invoiced directly?
Yes. Tell us who is paying and what reference they need and the invoice goes to them.
Will you send the school or venue your insurance certificate?
Schools and function venues usually ask for a certificate before bump-in. Request it when you book and we will send it through.
When should we book a Year 12 formal?
Formal season clusters into a few weeks, so the popular dates go early. If your date is set, check it as soon as the venue is confirmed.
Can we add a booth to the night?
Yes. The 360 booth and the GIF booth are the most popular choices for formals and 21sts because guests can share what they make straight away. A classic print booth suits guests who want something to take home.
What if the venue has a curfew?
Most do. Tell us the cut-off and the set is built to finish on it rather than get cut off mid-song.
