What we can project

Your names, your logo, in light

Names and wedding date

Both first names and the date, in a script or a clean sans, cut as a custom gobo for your event.

Monogram or initials

Two initials inside a wreath, a circle or a crest, sized to the wall you are projecting onto.

Company logo

Your brand mark projected at scale for launches, award nights and end-of-year functions.

Sponsor marks

Sponsor logos on rotation through the night, which gives a naming partner something to photograph.

Dance floor projection

Projected down onto the floor rather than the wall, so the monogram sits under the first dance.

Colour to match the room

The projection colour is set to your palette rather than defaulting to white.

If you seriously want to turn your event from something boring to the maddest night out. I highly recommend Charlie Sparks this dude is immaculate with what he did and how he did it 100% professional and all your photos will look like Vogue just shot the event. Hands down the best night ever.

Where it works

The wall decides how good it looks

A gobo projector is only as sharp as the surface it lands on. A plain, light-coloured wall with the room lights down is best, which usually means once the dance floor opens rather than during dinner.

Textured brick, dark panelling, busy wallpaper, or a bar or buffet in front of the wall all break the image up. We check the throw distance and surface with your venue before the day, and if the wall will not take it we will say so and suggest the dance floor or ceiling.

Booking steps

How gobo hire works

1

Send the wording

Names and date, initials, or your logo as a vector file. Tell us the venue and roughly where you want it to land.

2

Approve the design

We set the artwork out and send it back for sign-off. Nothing gets cut until you have seen it the way it will appear.

3

Set up and aim

We install and aim it before guests arrive, checking the throw against the actual surface rather than guessing from a plan.

4

Runs all night

It stays on for the event and we collect it at pack-down with the rest of the gear.

Gobo projector hire: common questions

What is a gobo projector?

A light that shines through a custom stencil or glass disc to project a sharp image onto a surface. At events it is used for couples' names, monograms and company logos.

How big does the projection get?

It depends on how far back the projector sits. The further away, the larger the image and the softer the edge. We work it out against your venue's dimensions so it fills the wall you want it on without spilling onto the ceiling.

What do you need from us for the design?

For names and a date, just the wording. For a logo, a vector file if you have one, or the highest-resolution version you can find. We set the artwork out and send it back for approval before anything is cut.

How far ahead do you need the artwork?

As early as you can send it. The design is set out, returned to you for approval and then cut, so it needs to be settled well before the event rather than in the last few days. If your wording is still being decided, send us the date anyway and we will hold the hire while you finalise it.

Can you project onto the dance floor?

Yes. It is aimed down rather than across, which suits a first dance because the design sits under the couple instead of behind them. It does get walked over once the floor fills, so most people use it early.

Will it work in our venue?

Most of the time. What stops it is a dark or heavily textured wall, a room that cannot be dimmed, or nothing to mount the projector on at the right distance. We check with the venue beforehand and tell you straight if it will not look good.

Can we hire it on its own?

Yes, or add it to a DJ, booth, letters or bartender booking so everything arrives with one crew and goes on one quote.

Do you do corporate logos?

Yes, and it is common at launches and award nights. A logo on the wall behind the lectern holds the branding without tying up a screen that you need for presentations or video.
